Frequently Asked Questions

What are the benefits of having my dress cleaned?

Even if your dress appears clean, it may have accumulated oils and bacteria that can cause discolouration or yellowing of the fabric over time. Various types of stains, some not even visible, can affect your dress in the long term, including dirt, mud, grass, asphalt, sand, alcohol, beverages, food, sunscreen, perfume, makeup, sweat, body oil, fake tan, and moisturiser.

It is crucial to remove these contaminants to minimize the risk of discoloration or deterioration of the dress materials.

Whether you intend to sell your dress, preserve it as a keepsake of your special day, or pass it down to future generations, it is essential to have it professionally cleaned by a specialist in bridal wear.

Our techniques gently remove even the toughest stains while preserving the integrity and quality of the fabrics.

Can I have my wedding dress dry cleaned?

In most cases, it is not advisable to dry clean your wedding dress due to the harsh chemicals and cleaning processes involved. The delicate fabrics, sequins, beading, and glitter on your dress make it unsuitable for dry cleaning. At Ever After Bridal Cleaners, we preserve your dress by hand cleaning, avoiding the use of harsh chemicals to ensure its longevity.

Do you offer dress repairs?

Yes, we provide minor dress repairs. Common issues we address include missing buttons, fallen sequins, broken straps, and minor tears. Please ensure that any items such as buttons and sequins are supplied with the dress for us to complete the repairs. Unfortunately, we cannot assist with larger repairs.

Is it necessary to store my dress in a box, or can I keep it in a bag?

While you can keep your dress hanging in its bag, this is not recommended for long-term preservation. Exposure to air can cause the fabric to discolour and turn yellow over time, a change that is often irreversible. Additionally, storing your dress in a bag puts pressure on the straps, which can lead to stretching or breakage.

Our storage boxes are lightweight, sturdy, and perfectly sized for convenient storage on top of or below your wardrobe. The sturdy cardboard construction also allows you to store other items on top of the box without compromising its integrity.

How long does the cleaning and preservation process take?

The cleaning and preservation process typically takes between 3 to 4 weeks. However, this can vary depending on the condition of the dress and the extent of any repairs needed. We will provide you with an estimated timeline when you drop off your dress.

What types of stains can you remove?

We specialize in removing a wide range of stains, including those from dirt, grass, food, and beverages. However, some stains, especially those that have set over time, may be more challenging to remove completely. We will assess your dress and discuss the expected results with you.

Do you offer a guarantee on the preservation of my dress?

As we are the experts in bridal dress cleaning and preservation, we have years of expertise in understanding how to preserve your dress. We provide you with detailed instructions, white gloves, and moisture absorption beads in your wedding dress box. So long as you follow our instructions, you shouldn’t have any concerns about the preservation of your dress. If you notice any issues, please contact us, and we will assist you.

Are there any materials you won't clean?

100% Natural silk can be extremely tricky, and may not have the desired results.

For this reason we will not take these dresses, and recommend you take it to a dry cleaner.
